In an epoch when women no longer have to look or behave like men to get ahead, and Lady Gaga made it to #25 on the Forbes list (in 2015) just for being her avant-garde self, we believe power dressing is all about being confident in one's own skin. At Bleu, we embrace all sides of our eclectic personality. Sometimes we are flirty; sometimes, albeit rarely, we are serious; but most of the time, we feel sophisticated and feminine. That being said, there are certain elements in our dressing that stay the same, and that strength in identity is how we define #PWRDRSNG. 

Here is our top 5 list of non-negotiable style elements.

1. You consider your wardrobe your armor, and your intention is to project that you are invincible in whatever you are doing. So our #1 has to be a well-tailored garment.

So even if it is a loose dress, make sure it fits well. If your torso is short, then bring up the waistband with the help of a tailor. And buy blazers that, if anything, look like they were made for your body. That means it has to look good through the chest (a sure sign of a well-fitting suit jacket), which can be hard for women, as we come in all shapes and sizes. We suggest buying a size up and bringing it in with a tailor; that is what they are there for! A well-fitting outfit will make your features stand out and hide your flaws. You will look and feel like a million bucks, and given the laws of attraction, we think this can only lead to success!

2. We think #2 is stating the obvious, but here it goes: Amazing shoes! High heels, for example, look great with everything we carry in the shop, even the joggers! Heels just makes us look and feel like women, and we are proud to be women!

3. Fashion changes every season and included in these changes are color choices. However, we believe if a color looks good on you, you should wear it no matter if it's en vogue or not. That being said, wearing splashes of the "it" color will always have eyes turning toward you. For example, a yellow dress is the epitome of power dressing. And since it is a hot color now, it will just make you look au current as well! The savvy fashionista will respect that!

4. As much as we love accessorizing, sometimes less is more. And in power dressing, we believe you should wear at least one classic accessory to show you "give a f***!" And if it is one accessory you wear every day for 365 days a year, it should be a good leather belt. Quality leather and a solid buckle are all the bling one outfit might need to make it look rich! And that is always important in Power Dressing.

5. As women, we need to carry things, more so then the average guy. And that is why this item will not show up on a men's list even though all the above could be put on theirs. As women, we just need a good hand bag that will enhance our look and yet still be functional. You cannot show up to a board meeting with a gym bag, as you cannot show up to an event with a briefcase, so choose your bag wisely.
