Back In Black

Oct 18th 2016

Despite the fact that this week's weather forecast includes a 90 degree scorcher, it's pretty safe to assume that fall has officially arrived - i.e. it no longer feels weird to wear over the knee boots out at night because it's at least relatively chilly. Our favorite part of fall's (albeit, brief) appearance? We can finally acquiesce to our inner goth and bring out the black - all the black, all the time. Black sweaters, leather jackets, lace dresses, jumpsuits, the list goes on. We've picked some of our favorites at Bleu to illustrate that anyone (with any style) can do black on black - we think it's just all in the attitude!

Perfext The Leather Jacket paired with their Crop Sweater and Strom Denim Jeans

The Casual Cool Girl

If sunny California style is your thing and a full commitment to head to toe black just doesn't feel like your vibe, we suggest starting with the most baby of steps. A black sweater is as versatile as they come - we like the 90s era feeling of this cropped version by The Perfext. Add a little edge by layering a black leather jacket over it - extra points if it has lots of silver details. Finish off the look by staying true to your beachy inspiration and pair it with distressed denim in a slouchy boyfriend fit.

The Prefext Hot As Hell Dress

The Boho Chic Babe

If lace is your preferred fabric, don't let the party end just because the temperatures drop. A black lace dress will satisfy your inner flower child while still feeling seasonally appropriate. HAH's Queen 4 A Day Lace Dress is the perfect sexy frock that covers all the essentials but leaves little else to the imagination! Wear it alone if you dare or layer it with a slip dress for a look that can take you from day to night and back again.

MicheMichelle Mason Jumpsuit paired with IRO Paris Belt

The Sultry Stunner

If sexy's your thing, black on black is your best friend. This jumpsuit by Michelle Mason is the perfect way to turn up the heat or head to the office - it's all in the styling! Define the waist for a night out with our new favorite belt from Iro, or add a tuxedo blazer for an office appropriate ensemble (this one from Phillip Lim is absolute perfection.)

Lavander Brown Top paired with IRO Paris Belt and Jeans

Effortlessly Edgy

If you like looking like you just hopped off the stage at The Troubadour, this look is for you. We love black on black on black - here we did it with a black cami, skinny jeans, and the coolest double buckle belt ever. For a little extra rad factor add your favorite leather jacket - the more vintage, the better!
